The Local Tavern and Grille – Sandwich, MA

Review

Not a scampi. Not a scampi. Say it again with me one more time: Not. A. Scampi. This was an oily mess of a pasta that had mixed feelings between a tuscan style shrimp dish (hence the heaping mounds of roasted tomatoes) and a fettuccini alfredo that you refrigerated overnight and then nuked too long in the microwave where the “cheese” all melted back into pure olive oil. Zero garlic or white wine taste, a lot of white onion flavoring, and completely overwhelmed by the roasted tomatoes. So much oil that it was essentially a soup underneath the toppings. The taste was actually pretty solid, but it was not a scampi, so don’t get duped by the “scampi” in name on the menu.
