Villa Roma – West Harwich, MA

Review

The Scampi gods have answered our prayers! Hail sauce, full of garlic, the flavor is with thee! Holy $hit was that good. While our classic homemade Scampi is still (unarguably, yes I said it 😉 hehe) the best overall, this however, was a close second! The only sin, which isn’t even a “sin” against Scampi, was that the pasta tasted a bit “commercial” in comparison to the homemade, garlic love that was clearly put into the sauce, ingredients, and overall time cooked. The key difference with this Scampi is that the seafood stock had deep flavor that countered really well against the butter, garlic, white wine, and (can’t believe I’m saying this) the onions. I would certainly donate to this church of flavor again by ordering another round of Scampi! Blessed be the garlic!

  • Garlic, garlic, garlic… oh did I mention garlic? The white wine garlic sauce was deeeee-LISH! Great flavor profile and depth
  • They clearly make their own seafood stock and it shows!
  • Pasta absorbed the white wine sauce really well
  • Perfectly cooked shrimp that don’t taste frozen!

  • Lack of freshness, which means it could have used fresh chopped parsley and red pepper flakes
