Review
Initially, we were reserved at how shockingly cheap this Shrimp Scampi was! Granted, Shrimp Scampi is on the higher end of ordering takeout, but that’s besides the point. For $17 tax included, we received a yuge home-baked, delicious bread to dip into the swimming pool of garlic, white wine, tomatoes, loooooooads of pasta, and the current record highest for shrimp- 7 jumbo shrimp! Yes, you heard it. Not the usual 4, not even the bonus of 6, but SEVEN JUMBO SHRAMP! Nom. Just dreaming about it again. While the pasta was obviously commericiall-made and didn’t have the expected “freshness” to compliment the sauce, overall, it was an amazing Scampi that could definitely compete with any $25+ dish on the Cape! Watch ciao-out, Impudent Oyster! 10/10 would order again if I was craving Scampi and wasn’t trying to impress an authentic Italian. Muah, mangifico!
Price
- $17
Type Of Pasta
- Linguini
Size & Number of Shrimp
- Six (6) Medium/Large (Not Jumbo), Perfectly Cooked Shrimp
Notable Ingredients
- Basil
- A humongous roll of absolutely fresh bread on the side for dipping!
Tails Up
- Perfect balance of price, quality, AND quantity (easily splittable for 2!)
- Garlic, white wine sauce was delicious and deep
- Shockingly well-cooked shrimp! For the size and amount, I’d assume they’d be overcooked and freezer-burnt, but was pleasantly surprised!
- BONUS: soft, homemade bread really complemented well with the overabundance of sauce- but I’m not complaining! Loved it!
Tails Down
- While I’ve started to enjoy tomatoes in Scampi (although that’s still isn’t “classic Scampi”), these were way to large and were beefsteak, so they didn’t add much to ensemble
- No heat or kick again, again- maybe restaurants don’t do this?
- Basil (cooked in)- idk why restaurants add basil #1, and #2, when it’s cooked in like that, it loses all flavor and doesn’t add anything to the dish
