Review
And the tour begins! We’re off to the races starting in Cape Cod. We decided to begin our Tour at a tried and true favorite restaurant, The Talkative Pig in Chatham, MA. At first blush, the Scampi looked a bit dry and did have tomatoes, which is up for debate about whether or not that is truly “scampi” (but more to come in a future debate about ‘To tomato, or not to tomato- what is the true Scampi?”). However, we were pleasantly surprised that it was not dry at all and had lots of deep flavor! Overall, not as “fresh tasting” as we’d like, but had simple and powerful ingredients with perfectly cooked shrimp! Way to go Talkative Pig!
Price
- $26
Type Of Pasta
- Homemade Angel Hair, mamma mia!!!
Size & Number of Shrimp
- Six (6) Medium Shrimp
Notable Ingredients
- Fresh bruschetta tomatoes
- Garlic!
- White wine
- Chopped parsley cooked into the sauce
Tails Up
- Lots of garlic! Very flavorful
- Perfectly cooked shrimp
- Sauce was just enough
- Tomatoes were like bruschetta, so not very overpowering, were chopped nice and small (as to be more a part of the sauce, rather than additional chunky ingredients)
Tails Down
- Could have used the additional of something fresh to make it pop – parsley was cooked in the sauce itself; we recommend it be chopped fresh and sprinkled on top with a splash of fresh lemon juice to really give the dish some sparkle!
- No heat or kick- would’ve liked some red pepper flakes
- Just want more of it! Both pasta and shrimp
